Photo story: USA revisited - Part 2

New York City

Also known as The Big Apple, but I haven't figured out why, yet. Americans are weird sometimes.
The Caretaker insisted on luring me on a ferry to see some island, that didn't look very much like an island to me.
But it's called 'Ellis Island', so I guess it's a Real American island. There was a huge building on it, that used to be
the first place that European immigrants would visit. I can think of better places to start with! O_o

The ferry made my stomach go whooptidoo, but we couldn't go back to firm ground yet.
Because on another 'island' there's this very famous statue, the Statue of Liberty. She is wearing flip flops.
It was too hot to climb the 96,146 stairs to the torch the lady is holding, which was fine with me - even if there
truly WAS a restaurant in there (which I don't believe anyway). I liked the souvenir shop though,
and the Caretaker bought me a kitschy miniature statue to show off at home.

I tried to add some extra 'oomph' to a potential dull picture by posing in front of the statue,
but of course the Caretaker wouldn't let me and dragged me away.

[sarcastic] Now THAT was an improvement!! [/sarcastic]

Then the Caretaker wanted to take a picture of the NYC skyline.
I sneaked in, giving my best smile, my hair was blowing in the wind beautifully, but no..

Booooooringggg!!!

Luckily we went back to the city to meet up with another Collegue, who guided us right into
the famous Magnolia Bakery. YES!! Finally something to put my teeth into!
I ate two delicious cupcakes, and then I had to sit down on this Real American NYC stoop for a while.
Looking at this picture still makes me feel a bit nauseous.

The Caretaker and it's Collegues decided to get me some fresh air in Central Park.
I was impressed. It doesn't look like the park next door to my house at all!!
I will write a letter to our municipality and tell them how a park should look like imo.
I think I will recommend Bethesda Terrace.

Ooh, and something like Conservatory Water, so my sisters and I can
organize regattas with our friends. And booze-soaked party cruises!
And.. huh? Okay, I'll shut up already. Sheesh.

I loved to see the statue of Alice in Wonderland! It's very pretty.
Alice is made of bronze. Bronze gets VERY hot when it's like a 100 degrees outside!
But cool as I am, I climbed the giganormous toadstool anyway, to pose for the picture.
Can you spot me?

Because we now were all hot and thirsty, we took a Real American NYC yellow cab
to drive us to our next stop. That didn't help much to calm my nausea! *barf*

But this cute little tearoom was worth the rollercoaster ride of hell.
There were vintage mismatching tables and funny plush chairs and adorable tea sets
and Alice books and gifts and stuff. And paintings on the walls and poems in the bathroom.
It was like peeing in Wonderland :D

I had tea with cookies and scones and other yummy things, and I felt a lot better.
I got a bit too excited from all the cute and the snacks and ended up in a tea cup, being silly.

The rest of the day was a bit of a blur because of my total sugar-overload-hyper-mode.
I remember 761,458 people and shops and dinner at the Hard Rock Café and shops.
At some point the Caretaker tucked me safely into it's bag to calm down and get some sleep.
But on our way back home, we stopped to enjoy this spectacular night view of all of the NYC lights:

Bye Bye New York! Until next time! ♥ ♥
